My love of the natural world has been the constant thread running through my life and that, combined with an early and continuing love of fabrics has led me to where I am now. I taught patchwork and quilting for over twenty years, following my discovery of the art in 1988. Those skills, combined with my art teaching degree, have enabled me to design and make textile art that has won me many prizes. I am proud to be a Member of the Society of Designer Craftsmen.
Initial research instigates a process of dyeing and printing my fabrics, then stitching by hand and machine.
Colour and the texture are important to me. I combine them to tell a story and to express how I feel about my subjects.
