I was very attracted to the "make something that represents your newly won freedom from your Committee" suggestion. I beaded a deer antler to represent "my knowing and trusting my senses and intuition (symbolic for antler/antenna). When I loose this sense (shedding) it always grows back. This represents confidence; it is my nature to know what is best for me and what I'm doing artistically."
A lot of my writing unearthed the fear of not being taken seriously as an artist by the Committee member who is the juror or editor I'm submitting to. I came to the conclusion that "I am the only person who can take myself seriously as an artist with any certainty."
